Ray Merriman Got It Right

Raymond Merriman, who is one of the most prolific financial astrologers and market analysts around, made a comment yesterday that really nailed one of the key planetary dynamics currently impacting global affairs and the financial markets.

“You want to see what Uranus square Pluto looks like?” he asked.

“Her name last week was Sandy. And she unleashed devastating natural catastrophe, economic loss, and threat to human life in a  manner reminiscent of the Japanese earthquake and tsunami of March 2011. For the first time since the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack on the twin towers in New York City, the New York Stock Exchange was shut down for consecutive days.

“In the study of Mundane Astrology, Uranus rules high winds, electrical black outs, and earthquakes. Pluto rules threat to life, crops, and economic loss. The square is an aspect that pertains to great challenges and difficulties of the dynamics signified by the planets that are involved in the square.”

Ray’s comments were right on target, and they echoed what I’ve been saying for the past six months– the Uranus/Pluto square is something we’ve got to deal with whether we like it or not, and it’s powerful enough to completely change many social, economic, and geopolitical structures that we’ve previously taken for granted.

That’s one of the reasons I published a monograph last Spring on The Uranus/Pluto Waxing Square 2012-2015: Expanded Astro-Trading Opportunities — it provides a complete historical analysis of the power behind fourth-harmonic Uranus/Pluto alignments, reviews all seven iterations of the square that will carry through the Spring of 2015, and provides some preliminary analysis of this planetary aspect’s impact on a variety of markets.

Whether or not you’re actively trading, this information about Uranus and Pluto is important stuff to reckon with, so I encourage you to get the facts about it. Doing so can make a big difference in your ability to survive in the markets– and, as Hurricane Sandy has just reminded us, perhaps in your ability to survive otherwise as well!

If you haven’t already gotten your copy of the Uranus/Pluto Waxing Square monograph, you might want to take a look at the Uranus/Pluto Toolkit, since it’s included as a part of that special combination of products that’s now on sale at http://www.HarmonicResearchAssociates.com.

Venus Makes Sure Uranus and Pluto Stay Connected

The equities markets in the U.S., after being closed for two days in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, basically traded flat yesterday as traders struggled to get their bearings and much of the Northeast still groped around in the dark, with millions still without electric power.

Today, however, the market action is much more lively, with the major indices all posting respectable gains in early trading.

What’s making the difference?

My guess is that we’re seeing the effect of transiting Venus, which is “translating” the powerful Uranus/Pluto waxing square this week. Venus lines up for an opposition to Uranus today, and then forms a square to Pluto the day after tomorrow, reinforcing the connection between these two outer planets as they make their historic lineup.

As I pointed out in the monograph on The Uranus Pluto/Waxing Square: 2012-2015, the Uranus/Pluto square will continue to have an effect through the spring of 2015– it contributes to an atmosphere of social upheaval and political confrontation, and it also juices up the market action as well. With this planetary alignment in play, we continue to see spurts of increasing market volatility, as well as some unexpected turns in market direction.

So while we are seeing some solid optimism in trading today, we’re just as likely to have the rug pulled out from under us tomorrow or early next week, with the high spirits suddenly turning into a more negative mood.

That’s the nature of the Uranus/Pluto square – expect the unexpected!

By the way, we’ll be talking about the role of Venus in translating the Uranus/Pluto square, as well as the upcoming solar and lunar eclipses, the next Mercury retrograde period, and a whole lot more during our November Astro-Trading webinar tonight at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time. If you’d like to join us, you can sign up for free at http://www2.onlinemeetingnow.com/register/?id=712c0a03cf. (If you can make it tonight, go ahead and sign up anyway– the webinar will be recorded, and you’ll get an email later letting you know about how you can access the replay.)

Could Hurricane Sandy Bring Some Good Results?

The devastation from Hurricane Sandy has shut down floor trading on the New York Stock Exchange for the second day in a row, and much of the Northeast is still reeling from the massive impact of this huge storm.

But while it’s easy to get caught up in the costly destruction of this event, we shouldn’t overlook the storm’s potential for bringing some positive results as well, especially in the realm of consciousness.

I shared some of my reflections on this subject, as well as some of the astrological implications of this historic weather event, in an article published in the most recent issue of the FinancialCyclesWeekly newsletter.

In the article I noted that Sandy’s ability to provide a “diversion from partisan confrontation, with the possibility of coming together creatively and cooperatively to deal with the effects of bad weather, could be a very good thing.”

By the way, the hurricane’s destructive force itself also opens up some potential opportunities for profitable astro-trading. I’ll be highlighting some of them in the next issue of the FinancialCyclesWeekly newsletter.
