Gann Date Expectations

We’re on the eve of a vital W. D. Gann date.

That means it’s time to assess the market outlook.

December 21 marks the Winter Solstice in the northern hemisphere and the Summer Solstice in the southern hemisphere.

As a “quartering day” in the year it’s a key Gann date.

Gann Date: The Winter Solstice
Venus provides some powerful triggering effects on the December 21 Solstice Gann Date.

This year’s event has special significance, however.

That’s thanks to Venus aligning in a square to Uranus and an opposition to Vulcanus at the
same time.

The Venus Gann Date Effects

Venus brings money, cultural affairs, alliances and women’s  issues into focus, with big implications for the markets and geopolitics:

Confused or deceptive communications [Mercury/Neptune]

Severe limits to growth and expansion [Jupiter/Admetos]

More conservative policies and ideals [Saturn/Poseidon]

Forceful actions & crack-downs by State authorities [Mars/Kronos]

Explosive disruptions and upheavals [Uranus/Vulcanus]

The solstice sets the stage for the coming months, so we can look for these themes to be emphasized as we move into 2020.

Larry Pesavento’s Perspective

The Gann Date also came up when I joined Larry Pesavento on his TFNN shows yesterday.

We discussed it as a potential market reversal point.

Stocks Approach Gann Date
Shown here as of Wednesday’s close the S&P 500 index has been tracking a Mars line as it moves toward the solstice Gann Date and a possible encounter with resistance. We expect the Pluto line to provide a moderating influence at about 3223.50.

We also looked at the current trading pattern for the S&P 500, with an eye toward Mars and Pluto.

Both planets are helping to structure the market action right now.

Farewell To A Friend

During our conversation yesterday Larry and I also shared stories about Jeanne Long.

Jeanne died Monday after some years of declining health.

She made major contributions to Gann studies.

And to financial astrology

And to astro-trading.

She was truly a beautiful soul.

I’ll miss her deeply.

Like A Dump Truck Full of Gravel…

We were still in the final hour of trading when I was on the air with Michael Yorba earlier today on his Traders Network radio show.

At the time, the sell-off in U.S. equities had already gotten underway, but we still didn’t have an indication of just how big the losses for the day would be at the closing bell, with the Dow Industrials off by 1.41% and the S&P 500 down 1.17% on the session.

That selling action wasn’t on the radar for most traders when the opening bell rang this morning, but as I noted in my blog post this morning, the Uranus/Poseidon waxing quincunx had the power to pull the rug out from anything that looked too much like a rally. By the end of the trading day a Sun/Saturn waxing trine was also looming large, adding to the bearish pressure.

As I told Michael Yorba during our interview, it was a lot like what we would be experiencing if we had gotten in our car and had begun driving behind a dump truck full of gravel, with the flying debris of cosmic alignments smacking the market’s windshield as we hurtle down the highway.

There’s a lot more debris headed our way as we move along the Stock Market Collision Course during the coming weeks. It’s a time for cool heads and solid astro-trading strategies.

Retrograde Parade Video – Market Analysis

When I talked with Michael Yorba on his Traders Network radio show on Thursday afternoon, the stock market hadn’t closed for the day, but the S&P was up. As it turned out, that index not only finished the day higher, but went on Friday to hit an even higher high, bringing the S&P 500 back within range of a fresh all-time high.

This confirms the Mercury retrograde uptrend I was talking about with Michael as an effect of the Retrograde Parade we’re currently experiencing. As usual, the planets are having a big impact on the price action in the markets!

Prior to my interview with Michael on Thursday, I posted an S&P 500 trading chart that illustrated the typical effects we can experience when Mercury is retrograde. Since the close yesterday, I’ve updated that chart with current prices, and have also put together this 6-minute video that provides some additional information about the Retrograde Parade, including the recent price action during the Venus retrograde period in December and January:

Michael Yorba Raves About Astro-Trading

When I joined Michael Yorba as a special guest on his Traders Network radio show yesterday afternoon, he began our conversation with a question about the astro-trading advantage. “You cannot gain ultimate accuracy without having this advantage” in your trading, he said, and asked me to explain why it’s so important to apply astrological knowledge when we get into the market action.

When we use astrology in the markets we really do have an advantage, so I was grateful for the opportunity to comment on what planetary dynamics can offer active traders. Later in the interview, we also had a chance to talk about the current string of planetary retrogrades and their impact on the markets.

Mercury Retrograde in Name Only?

It’s really weird.

I guess that sometimes just TALKING about Mercury being retrograde, even though Mercury isn’t actually retrograde at the time, can be enough to mess up communications.

At least that seems to be what happened yesterday after my interview with Michael Yorba.

As a former regular on Michael’s television and radio shows starting about 6 years ago, I’m always happy when he invites me to come back as a special guest.

That was certainly the case when I got a message yesterday, asking if I could join him on the air for his afternoon radio broadcast. I was glad to accept the invitation.

During the program, we had a great chat. We spent about 11 minutes together during the interview session, which gave us an opportunity to talk about a lot of things, including the current Saturn/Neptune trine trends in Gold prices and equities, and even some of the history of astro-trading.

But we also discussed the Mercury Retrograde phenomenon, and I guess that’s what got things screwed up, maybe through some kind of strange magical connection.

There wasn’t actually any noticeable effect during the live interview itself, though– things got confused afterwards.

I first learned about the problems a few hours later, when I started getting emails from frustrated people who had been trying to access the archived recording of the interview on Michael Yorba’s website.

Altogether I heard from about 6 or 7 people who complained that even though my interview was listed on the site, clicking on the playback button brought up an interview with somebody else– and they wanted to hear what I had to say.

As it turned out, the interview had been recorded and the recording had actually been posted to the archive.

It was just stuck away somewhere where it couldn’t easily be found, with somebody else’s name attached to it to add to the overall confusion.

That’s the kind of challenge that’s far more typical when Mercury is retrograde!

The last time I checked, things in the archive still weren’t functioning properly. But I did manage to capture the recording of the interview!
